Crawford Wins Sixth Man of the Year

Hawks Bulls Basketball

After getting to the playoffs after 11 seasons, Atlanta Hawks’ Jamal Crawford, received another treat this year-The Sixth Man of the Year Award.

Crawford received 580 of 610 points and collected 100 out of 122 first place votes. Mavericks’ guard Jason Terry and Cavaliers’ forward Anderson Varejao also received votes, finishing second and third in the voting.

Crawford was acquired in a trade last summer from the Golden State Warriors for Acie Law and Speedy Claxton. The Seattle native had the season of his career averaging 18.0 points per game, second on the Hawks behind only All-Star Joe Johnson, who averaged 21.3 points per game. His 18.0 points per game led the league for all non-starters. Crawford also set a NBA record this year with 24 four-point plays. All Crawford’s accomplishments and accolades helped lead the Hawks to their best record since the 1996-1997 season and earn a three seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs.
